Tawang beyond horror

After the khardungla pass (17600 ft)
The sela pass to reach tawang would have been a cakewalk
But to our horror ,this pass located at 13700 ft gave us a near death experience
North east India is a place where anything can go wrong at any time
And you can’t blame anyone but you for the luck you carried yourself here with
Post a mechanical flaw in one of the wheel bearings lead our journey to extend by 6 hours
Where we were to reach at 6 or 7 pm
We were compelled to reach at 2am
With no network coverage
No other vehicles on the road
No street lights ( do not expect these luxuries in such remote areas )
And a constantly engulfing fog possibly destroying the vision even at a mere distance
We 4 of us along with two military personnel one of whom was an experienced military vehicle driver and our assigned freaking idiotic driver who got drunk post our dinner break
If it wasn’t for that military guy taking charge of that vehicle we definitely wouldn’t have made it safely to tawnag , while on the road
It was chilling outside
Pitch dark
And some happy souls in a chatting mode
That night was the toughest of all
I couldn’t have shared this experience with my parents till date
I would say literally a miracle got us through that haunting night

Beyond that night was waiting a beautiful place
Hidden from the mainstream world
Beyond India’s one of the toughest roadways
These roads and the terrain definitely beat khardungla
And i am saying this because i have been to both
Fog plays a crucial role here
Can literally make you drive on your instincts
How scary is that to do on a road inspired by a serpentine

Tawang was gorgeous
Heavenly and devine
Glad to have celebrated diwali in there
Would never forget every bit of it

Mystique woods

Photography in the woods

So i got up a bit early had to finish some work, so realised my parents have already left for their morning walk. It was 6:30 am i came in my study room opened up the window and voila a thick fof had caught uo my entire surroundings, fyi i have a woods in my neighbourhood and it is always fun to explore it when it gets mysterious as in like now, woods and fog ask me that’s a deadly combination…

The thing i lacked was my prime subject but i knew there would be some passerby who comes for their morning walk…

So without any further delay i took my

Mobile tripod and of course my mobile with me and headed out(no canon this time) …

The fog was settling down but i did manage to get some really good clicks in a short span

It was challenging and fun at the same time as i had a limited time to figure out my frame and location and a hope that I will be able to some random subject in my frame and this is the result.

Steelwool wrapped in adventure

Well after a week long planning and scheduling we finally made it possible to pull this stunt, well not a stunt to be precise but it deserves every credit when it comes to being an adventure, coming back to the mains, after all the discussions we came to a finalised spot for steel wool, it was decided that it’ll be done on a beach near cida de goa, well beach being an ideal location as the watery helps in getting nice reflections and this particular being isolated and tranquil helped us a lot.

Here one can find nice shoreline with corals and rocky structures ideal for steel wool as it bounces off it brilliantly.

So we had like 2 dslr setup on individual tripods of course and two go pros, one hero 4 and the other, the very new hero 6 (damn this cam) and the dslrs 1200d and 700d i guess both canon of course duhh…

So the plan was to wind this up as quickly, as it was high tide time and the air was full of moisture that would mean the steelwool would be wet and that happened indeed. It took us took alot of time in lighting this stuff, the steelwool but then we could get some shots, some failed trails but the onez we could capture were stunning and really worth our time.

Now while this all was going we forgot that it was a high tide time and water was gradually rising, the shore line had drastically reduced and then suddenly a huge wave hit that almost swept our gopro… geese that would have been a disaster, that guy managed to grab it at the very end and saved the night.

The last image was taken on a new spot when we decided to switch the location as the previous almost cost us a lot…. So by all thks while it was already late night so we had to wind uo with something, then we decided to click this picture we used a fairy light wrapped around a bar and rotated it in the back of this subject result was pretty good

Some tips

1-Do not keep your steelwool in moist air it gets very difficult to light it up

2-If possible use some gasoline to burn or start the initial spark

3-make sure you are aware of you environment and climate

4- darker the background better is the result well it actually depends on your composition

Levitate it easily

Well i wanted to try this style where you make the object look like levitating and as i was the only one to perform this. i had to manage all by myself including the subject (me) camera setup and the prop of course.

Now the trick here i used is i used a coffee mug and tied it to a thin string easily visible to naked eyes as it has to be strong enough to hold the weight.

Now the next problem was to put the camera on a timer mode and get back behind the mug and pose for the shot.

It isn’t as easy as it sounds the main hurdle was the rotating mug even after putting some weight in it, it wouldn’t stop spinning and then i had to come with this trick to hold it tightly at the very end of the timer and release the mug to make it stable for those couple of seconds… And it worked

So next step is to edit the string out, which if done consciously and accurately works as a charm usually i use lightroom but i was in a hurry to get the outcome so i transferred the pictures on my phone and used it to edit,

I used snapseed app it has a healing function which came out to be really handy

What supposedly was a steel wool photography night turned out to be star gaze portfolio

Having no other option than to do star or astro photography with the possibly available equipments we enjoyed trying some on our own.

Took a model and made him sit at the higher end and started out shutter with a stop of 8

Of all the blues today i had forgotten my dslr memory card but my note 8 came to real handy and could click a bit of these.

Now the problem was time i had to reach home early asap so had to wind up this thing as quick as possible.

Wasn’t a bad day either got a nice couple of shots indeed.

Food photography – NOTE8

Well well apart from my daily cringe about giving up on unhealthy food i also enjoy eating some….. Though occasionally and mind you i am one who waits to click the picture of the food item before it ends up in my stomach

My mantra click at it before bon apatite

Haha and surely that has ruined my several meals before, from melting the ice cream on my brownie sizzelers to making my waffles soggy enough to hate it later…. i have had it all just to take that perfect picture, not to upload anywhere but to save it and savour the memories later…. yes i am that person

Recently i had this crazy habit of carrying my dslr anywhere i went out to eat and that used to ruin the moment so i stopped it and continued struggling with my one plus camera which works just average in indoor lighting i was dissatisfied i needed a change …Now I hve got a new phone samsung note 8 whose food photography mode gives me the stunning and vivid images which unlike the iPhone looks same as the output viewed on different device screens

Photography day 1 – breaking the MYTH

In general i would want to emphasise on the fact that to outperform something and stand out in an unusual way you got to be consistent and disciplined.

Same applies to your work relating to photography, whenever you are up for any event go with proper protocols and show your interest towards the sincerity of the occasion. By this, i mean show some respect to your event be the one who everyone wants to see, thats how good you’ll eventually grow.

And along woth it, its your duty to grow big and i actually mean this… Its all you to develope your skills and your contacts with any source full person you meet upon your journey. Your presence has to be felt and remembered and this is actually the need for your progress

Now coming on to the camera we stumble upon the most frequently asked question which cam do you use well basically thrre are different brands offering different variety of cameras which includes around 8 levels

Amature
Semi professional
Professional

Each one has its anothe sub category…

Now i would tell you one thing if you want to learn about something say photography in this case learn from someone who isn’t teaching you solely from his experience but who genuinely is a good teacher and has nothing to do with your success a neutral person who will see you as just an ordinary kid and would believe in changing your life through the needed photography

Now if you asm me whoch brand do you prefer CANON or NIKON i would love not to answer your question…. Use either and chose your own gear…. And live it with forever because that would be your love forever

I am not an expert but i am trying to share some knowledge to help you decide what can go wrong possibly if you are not guided well

Now lets just break the MYTH

MYTH ABOUT MEGAPIXEL

The myth goes around like this…. Image having a good megapixel counts would fetch you a good looking picture

To break it once and for all i would like to tell something about it giving it a proper base to decide

Until and unless you are up for a large print you are however never affected by the MEGAPIXEL counts yes you certainly require some amount but you surely shouldn’t be deciding your device based on the MEGAPIXEL count of the camera you are looking upto

MP does not give you better pictures, when you use a small scale picture for a limited platform for eg instagram or facebook what you upload is a very minimalised compressed outcome which doesn’t even hold your real MP count… Whenever we print an image in the scaling 4:6 what we get as an outcome is 1/2 MP and thus MP is just boon if tou are at all going to enlarge an image and you don’t have to concentrate on MP counts

And hence know your preference and upload or click accordingly in the desired size but in case of nature photography i would recommend to keep the MP count high as possible as it is on your device to avoid any problem that might rise uo due to any further post processing

Now coming to the art of clicking what we should and always remember is that when you click a picture what you present is a plane 2D image with no depth and 3rd dimension so it is our photographers dream and ultimate task to just make it the othe way.

In the sense we have to concentrate on the shadows highlights and composition to five it a lively feel and depth to distinct the objects and desired subject in a frame

Dark portraits

As the story goes you’ll get to know what is this dark fuss about, well dark here surely means an absence of ample light which was the reason of the title, after a while took out my camera and though of playing with,

Well i have a canon 1200d a basic entry level dslr which works as a charm with the 50mm prime lens. i had this long wish of creating my very own diy softbox for my portraits but as i am really bad at producing the fine portraits somewhere at the back of my mind i had kept it at the least number, of my priority list. But today was the day…. took a cardboard box and had a piercing in it attached a couple layer of butter paper and made an incision to allow and fit in my camera’s built in flash…. It wasn’t that effective but produced some soft images.

Then i tried using it in dark room to produce some dark portrait effects whcih turned out to be good. Then after a couple of shots i was into it withthe help of my cousin who’s a good theater artist thus i could get some stunning effect and facial expressions

So initially the fear of working with faces has vanished and here are some of my portrait work done and published hope you like it

The drama of chicken nuggets…

God this month july, i have been unlucky for so many times… Oh wait have i mentioned you about my only biggest dzire of this life…. of course it is food.. Food helps me grow seems legit? or else how people will call me fat… They have to right! so here i am spreading my arms for the love of food… Aah coming back to the unlucky part i just lost my chicken nuggets to my brother…. And about the unlucky july month it was in context to my food, whatever i save for later has gone into vanish well not exactly it’ll be to say has gone into someone else’s stomach and tbh most in my brother’s… such a hogger he is big fat ass….. And no i wouldn’t say never mind because i wantd those leftover nuggets…. I was to make nice grilled chicken sandwiches out of those… Oh my poor nuggets went to a lesser deserving person… Ummm you know what i think somethings wrong with my luck whatever i have been saving for later even the soaked almonds…. Everything just everything, disappears after a while.. Umm cant help it…. Relax bro there’s more and way important things in your life than this hahaha….

What i did next after i came to know about my chicken nuggets…. I went crazy af… Gosh i have to control my temper i just cant happen to…..

I humiliated him, fatshamed him and then grabbed my usual tea cup boiled some water dont worry didn’t throw at him haha i would never!! took a green tea bag and just came up on our terrace…… Green tea is so soothing. From a highly fat saturated dish i moved to almost a zero calorie one…. Sometimes things happen for a reason but certainly not relating to food… Ok calm down now enough already….

So here i am sipping my green tea in my usual ceramic cup as lite as my heart….

So that’s it for the day…. an evening spent without nuggets (no pun intended )…..

dear jindagi morning…

OMG what a sleep it was …deep and sweet (no pun intended ), btw i don’t like puns leaving it aside i just got up with my cat rubbing his mustache and he is so adorable makes your morning really pleasant …one more thing i just realized in this morning that your alarm song plays a really important part for the start of your morning …trust me on that a couple of days i was under despacito track by beiber but that wasn’t helping so i switched on to love you jindagi from dear jindagi by Mr.king khan and that song sets up the tone for your perfect morning ,it helped me set up my mood and i was fresh and feeling lively ,its just that i had nothing to do in the morning i just had to lay down and surf on the youtube ….btw youtubing is my pass time hobby i just love youtubing i have this dream to start up a channel with some stunning travel videos …but that’s just a long procedure to start with

Now coming back to my morning song well ill suggest you to switch to some soulful songs with some meaningful motivating lyrics its just magical….and count me on that it’ll surely improve your start

the start…

Its been a while now , i have always had this thought of starting a blog but somewhere or the other i missed the chance and time to start one. But now here i am to start with something similar to that with some free time in my hand and some thoughts on my mind . i am starting with my personal portfolio …

Here i am juat confirmed my account thinking about what do to next, now thag i am ready to share my life on this platform ill soon shift towards the bloggers with the paid domain

Its fun to be expressive and help other through zuch platforms and i always wanted to write something, something beyond which i would get to know me better, i would get to learn about my thinking even better, because that way i would be able to understand myself which most of us hardly do… Leaning yourself, your potential, your capabilities and abilities wouldn’t be a tough task to achieve and once you are gone through that phase you are certainly liable to achieve some greater heights in your success phase….
